Your privacy matters to us. BreatheRun has been designed to help you enjoy running without collecting unnecessary personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, why it is needed, and how it is handled.
Information We Collect
Location
If you choose to record a run, BreatheRun accesses your device's location while your run is active in order to calculate your distance, pace and route.
Run History
BreatheRun stores information about completed runs, including distance, duration, pace and breathing session details.
Notifications
If enabled, notifications are used to deliver countdowns, breathing prompts and running guidance.
Health Connect (Heart Rate)
If you have Health Connect installed and a connected device — such as a Garmin watch — that has recorded heart rate, BreatheRun can read the heart rate recorded for the time window of your run and show it alongside your run stats.
If you choose to tap "Sync to Health Connect" on a completed run, BreatheRun writes that run to Health Connect as an exercise session, including distance and steps when available, so other apps that read Health Connect — including Garmin Connect — can access it. This only happens for a specific run when you explicitly choose to sync it; BreatheRun never syncs runs automatically.
Health Connect access is entirely optional and can be granted or revoked at any time from Health Connect's own app settings.
How We Use Your Information
Information is used only to provide the core functionality of BreatheRun.
- Recording your runs.
- Providing breathing guidance.
- Displaying your running history.
- Showing heart rate alongside a run, when a device such as a Garmin watch has recorded it to Health Connect.
- Writing a run to Health Connect as an exercise session, only when you choose to sync that run.
- Improving future versions of the app.
Data Storage & Security
Your running history is stored locally on your device. If you choose to sync a run to Health Connect, that run's data is also stored by Health Connect and becomes available to other apps you've granted access to it, governed by Health Connect's own privacy and security controls. BreatheRun does not sell your personal information and does not create advertising profiles based on your activity.
Third-Party Services
BreatheRun may rely on trusted Google services such as Google Play Services to provide core Android functionality. If you choose to use it, BreatheRun also integrates with Android Health Connect to read and, when you request it, write heart rate and run data — this is how BreatheRun works with Garmin Connect and other fitness apps, since Health Connect is the on-device bridge between them. These services operate under their own privacy policies.
Your Choices
- Grant or revoke location permission at any time.
- Manage notification permissions through Android Settings.
- Grant or revoke Health Connect permission at any time through Health Connect's app settings, and choose whether to sync any individual run.
- Delete the application and its locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
BreatheRun is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as BreatheRun evolves. The latest version will always be available on this page.
